HANaccounts for students or employees
When you are a student or an employee, a HANaccount will be created for you. After you have uploaded a passport photograph via www.han.nl/hanaccount, you will automatically receive your HANCard by mail at your home address. In addition to using the HANCard it is possible to use a personal card, e.g. an OV chip card, or a PIN code to identify yourself.
Usually, when you are a student you will have a student account, and when you are an employee you will have an employee account.
Occasionally, a so called combi account is created, e.g. when you are an employee that is enrolled for a course. In that case you will need two personal HANCards for identification, one to identify yourself as an employee, and one to identify yourself as a student.
HANaccounts for guests
When you are a guest, you can use a personal card, e.g. an OV chip card, or a PIN code to identify yourself.
